What a wonderfully godless universe this is
Thursday, July 16th, 2009A powerful argument for the belief in a supernatural being is that without such a being, life would be pointless, boring and meaningless.
However:
- The parting a sea is nothing compared to the splitting of an atom.
- The life and death of one illiterate carpenter 2000 years ago is nothing compared to the billion-year life and breathtaking death of a star.
- The story of desert loner and his flying horse has got nothing on the vast emptiness of space and the flying worlds that live in it.
To any believer who doubts existence could not be as amazing and thoughtful without some god, I challenge them to watch the Carl Sagan documentary series
