The latest example I’ve heard was that “my heart beats so many times during my life, proof that God loves us.” Sigh… if only people would use the same critical thinking skills in evaluating religious claims that they use in unclogging a stuck drain.
Almost forgot…God made poison ivy so….uh….mmm…. Oh yeah! So we wouldn’t complain as much about hemorrhoids. Once you’ve wiped your ass with poison ivy out in the woods, hemorrhoids just don’t seem all that bad.
I think this may be my fave strip so far. It’s a great example of how you can frame your world in ways that supports and reinforces your belief structure.
And for the record this is equally true of athiests as it is for the devout.

Thanks MarauderDeuce. It’s very true, we can all be susceptible to line this seductive line of thinking.
