Making fun of Christian fundamentalists is like shooting fish in a barrel – not much worry about reprisals there. When it comes to goofy religious beliefs, Islam takes the cake – but I don’t exactly see you wielding your pen against that thieving murderous pedophile Muhammed and his wacky band of followers!
Well… I certainly can understand an artist who chooses not to make fun of Muhammed. What I don’t understand, and find highly disturbing in terms of the human condition, is how people could consider murdering someone who says, writes, or draws something. No matter how offensive that which is written, said, or drawn.
And since this is the only life that Jeffrey gets, if someone threatened to take it from him for drawing an offensive cartoon…. well, I can surely understand why he’d avoid drawing such a cartoon.
