Dang this leads to the question. Can the body be taught to be less affective at prossesing calories or is it something that over wieght people will always have to struggle with even when they get skinny?
@Kim You can permanently change your metabolism if you diet long enough (for about six months or more). After that, your hunger will naturally be lessened and your metabolism sped up
@JubJub: Can you point to studies on that? I found this one here which indicates that people who lose a lot of weight have persistent changes in several hormones involved with weight and eating that run counter to the weight loss efforts. This seems to suggest that the body isn’t so easily taught to change.
